This has been a sought after course for the last five years. Beginners and experienced knitters alike learn how this craft can be used to make knitwear that fits, and other non-clothes items.
Materials (£10-£12) and Brother punchcard machines are available, or you can bring your own yarn and machine if you prefer.
If you are a novice or want a refresher you will be taught on both the single bed and/or with a ribber attachment. We will look at tension, shaping, reading and adapting patterns, using charting devices, making it fit – and more.
During the week you can use a Garter Bar, knit in beads, perfect cables and buttonholes on a single or ribber bed. You will also knit pattern fabrics eg fair-isle, tuck, slip, and learn how they are formed. This will enable you to go on and create your own designs.
The first day can be taken as a stand-alone day for beginners or those looking to refresh their knowledge or as part of a full week for experienced knitters. The last day will be devoted to making up and neat finishing including cut and sew. Tutor: Beryl Jarvis
