Heartstitch Needlework Workshops
A series of workshops involving stitching and sewing run by course tutor Jane Schofield. Jane believes that everyone can stitch, whatever their age, and that is her passion – nurturing your inner seamstress or stitcher so that you can make beautiful and fun things, for the home and yourself.
Jane especially loves stitching accessories, decorations and clothes with a contemporary twist. Creating gorgeous designs with old bits of fabric and wool that might be heading for the bin (now known as "upcycling") is now something of an obsession! It also feels good to be creative, "green" and thrifty – all at the same time.
The workshops are suitable for everyone, whether or not they have done any sewing before. The tutor will offer a selection of fabrics - charged for as used. Please feel free to bring your own fabric (you will receive guidance on this prior to the workshop). Those attending Cool Cushions should bring a cushion pad/s.
Easter Workshops

Kitchen Chic - Make gorgeous retro aprons and tea/egg cosies. Also – try your hand at embellishing tea towels – Cath Kidston-style. It's amazing what you can make in one day.
Beautiful Bags & Cute Corsage - Design and stitch a beach or tote bag for the summer season. Learn new sewing skills and have fun with embroidery and appliqué. Come and explore an array of super-stylish ideas for making colourful flower brooches (corsage) with felted wool and delicate silks. Simple stitching but sophisticated results!
Summer Workshops

Bunting & Cupcakes – Liberty print bunting, vintage-style and bunting for a special occasion. So much to choose from. As well as making bunting for the garden come and have fun with stitching delightful cupcake decorations and accessories.
Creative Cushions - Have your seen all those (very expensive...) cushions in the shops and thought, "I wish I could make that"? You can! This workshop explores ideas for simple but decorative designs – all at a fraction of the price in the shops.
