'Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.' Thomas Edison
Inspiration is the key to a writer's success. But where do you find it? And once you've found it, what do you do with it? This course will look at the many ways in which a writer can find inspiration, as well as providing the opportunity to develop your ideas into complete pieces of writing. Run over three days, we will focus on a variety of techniques – some traditional, some more unusual - to inspire our writing. Equally suitable for writers of all genres and abilities, this course will leave you with a toolkit of inspiration tips to keep your writing going into the long summer nights and beyond. All you need to bring is the perspiration!
Course tutor Xanthe Wells holds a doctorate in Creative/Critical Writing and runs her own business, The Writerspace, providing coaching and editing support for professional and aspiring writers alike. As well as being published herself, she has worked as a ghost-writer and also contributed to a Life Philosophy Series in the UK. She is current Secretary and Past-Chairman of Swanwick Writers' Summer School. Around all this she loves to find time to teach Creative Writing to both teenagers and adults.
