Become Gleeks for the week as you work towards creating your own show choirs and putting together singing, moving and dancing. In this jam-packed week you will work with professionals towards putting on a show on the last day in Uppingham School's professional theatre with fantastic lighting and sound to accompany you. You'll be working all together and in smaller groups, and by the end of the week you will have formed your own bands, choirs and dance groups, made lots of friends, learnt lots of skills and techniques and hopefully had lots of fun!
Each day will be spent taking part in a combination of singing, dancing and movement. Groups will be split up into those who want to focus more on singing and those who want to work more on dance so that everyone can have a chance to have a go at what they enjoy the most.
Highlight of the week will be the show on the final afternoon, when family and friends will be invited to come and see all you have learned, and to watch the high energy performance in Uppingham Theatre.
Residential students will have all sorts of evening activities to keep the fun running all day.
Heading up the course is Jane Stevens, Assistant Director of Music at Uppingham School and an unashamed Gleek. Jane has been Musical Director for many shows, revues and showcases throughout her career. She will be supported by a cast of fellow professionals to help students work on the choreography and technical back up for the week and end of week performance.
"The standard of teaching was fantastic – many thanks to all concerned."- Parent
