Uppingham Summer School Festival of Sport – August 2012

Run over 4 days from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 August, the Festival of Sport will incorporate our Rugby, Hockey and new Netball coaching courses. Coaching for each of the sports is aimed at all levels, from complete beginners through to county standard players, and is the ideal pre-season training opportunity, or the chance to brush up on skills before starting a new sport at school. There will be the opportunity to 'mix-and-match' sports too, for any children who might wish to do one sport for 2 days and a second sport for the other 2 days – all we ask is that this is requested at the time of booking.

The 3 coaching courses will run concurrently, and children have the option of staying residentially as well as attending on a daily basis. Residential students will all stay together in one of the School's boarding houses. All meals will be provided for residential students and the Uppingham Summer School pastoral team will put together a full programme of leisure activities for the evenings, which will include the chance to try some other sports, or perhaps a treasure hunt or even some karaoke! As with all Uppingham Summer School's residential courses, pastoral staff will stay in the boarding house with the children, and be on hand 24 hours a day to ensure their safety and welfare needs are looked after.
