This course is offered in Spring and throughout Summer but competition for places is still expected to be great so book early to avoid disappointment. It offers a package of waterbased fun, together with some serious instruction in a number of different watersports. Participants will be coached in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and raft building. You will meet lots of other young people so, when it comes to team races and games, you’ll already know what you’re up against! Water safety is a key theme. This is the ultimate course to give young people who enjoy water and being active the chance to try, with expert tuition, all the most popular water-sports. 10.00am – 4.00pm

This one-day introduction to canoeing, kayaking and raft-building is aimed at those who have never done any watersports to give them a taster of watersports fun.

Launched in 2007 to introduce water confident youngsters to the fun of watersports. These sessions will be determined by what the youngsters want to try but will include use of canoes, kayak and raft-building as well as getting the feel for wearing wet-suits (provided).

This three-day course is a basic but comprehensive introduction to sailing similar to the adult course but tailored to meet the specific demands of young people.

Sailing 5 day – stage 2.5

This five day course will bridge the considerable gap between Stages 2 and 3. You will practice skills learned on Stage 2 and get an insight into Stage 3 techniques. 10.00am – 4.00pm

For students with a lot of sailing experience behind them, this five day course gives juniors the chance to improve techniques including sailing single-handed and sailing backwards. This is the minimum qualification for a junior to hire a boat on their own. 10.00am – 4.00pm

kayaking

windsurfer

Windsurfing Level 1 (2 days)

Geared towards active young people with a love of water. The course is the same as an adult level 1 course with additional extra fun sessions including water games. This is the minimum certificate required to hire a craft if a parent or responsible adult is on shore. 10.00am – 4.00pm

Powerboating

Introduced in 2007, the junior powerboat course introduces the basic concept/skills needed to drive a powerboat safely/ competently under supervision. 10.00am – 4.00pm

Powerboating

Level 2 (12 – 16 year olds)

This course leads to the 'National Powerboat Certificate' . Those gaining their Level 2 can then apply to the RYA for their ICC ('International Certificate of Competence'). The course suits all levels. 10.00am – 4.00pm
