The Creative Technologies Powerhouse vision is to empower and inspire course participants to express themselves through digital media; experimenting with, learning about and manipulating digital artefact - thereby discovering the infinite possibilities that creative technologies have to offer. Employing digital innovation as a driver for creativity, Creative Technologies Powerhouse delivers a wide range of projects and activities using powerful digital tools. CTP promotes enquiry, originality, creativity and experimentation; fostering collaborative work by students in the state-of-the art surroundings of Uppingham School's Paul David Music School and Leonardo Centre. CTP views digital technologies as powerful creative tools for the 21st Century, creating an array of exciting opportunities for invention and innovation within the seven specialist subject areas. CTP projects encourage debate, team-work, communication and presentation - supporting and extending course participants and providing a technologically enriched environment in which all those involved can learn, flourish and have fun!

robots on the grassStudents will follow one of two possible pathways during the week long course, either 3D Design or Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media Production. Components of each pathway are as follows:-

3D Design – Activities include iPhone application and computer game design/realisation, animation and 3D product design.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) & Digital Media Production – Activities include film-making and editing, creative music production, artificial intelligence programming, robot building, coordinating virtualised action sequences.

There is a varied programme of leisure activities for residential students. Activities include sports options such as swimming, badminton, table tennis or rounders in the brand new Uppingham School Sports Centre, film evenings, barbecues, quizzes and treasure hunts.
