How do I make a booking?
You can make your booking through this website, by telephone or by returning the completed booking form.
Do I need to pay in full for the course when making my booking?
Full payment is required at the time of booking for any courses costing less than £250. Otherwise, places on courses costing £250 or more (children's residential courses) can be secured by payment of a deposit of £50, with the balance payable by 30th June. Please note that credit cards used for deposit payments will automatically be debited with the balance due on this date, so please ensure it will still be valid.
Do you offer any Early Booking Discounts?
An early booking discount of 10% will apply to bookings for children's residential courses (excluding Festival of Sport) made before 31st March, 2012, provided FULL payment is received at the time of booking.
How can I pay?
Payment can be made by cheque, credit card or by direct bank transfer. Please contact Uppingham Summer School for details if you wish to pay by bank transfer. Cheques should be made payable to 'Uppingham School'.
Are there any bursaries available?
The Windmill House Trust provides grants through educational organisations in the vicinity of Uppingham, to support cultural activities that involve children from the ages of 3 to 12 years. The Trustees will consider a diverse range of projects, but will give particular consideration to the promotion of art, music, drama, poetry and natural history, and have therefore included a grant to provide subsidised places on a number of Uppingham Summer School courses in the programme for 2012. Please contact Uppingham Summer School for further details and an application form.
What happens next?
As soon as your payment has been cleared we will send you an acknowledgement of your booking. For some shorter courses this will also contain full joining instructions; however for Children's Residential courses, and other courses requiring more detailed information, we will send you out a further information pack several weeks before the course start date.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
Please notify us in writing (by letter or email). Our policy on refunds is:
- Cancellation more than 90 days from course start - full refund
- Cancellation less than 90 but more than 30 days from course start - an administration charge of £50 will be levied
- Cancellation 30 days or less from course start - full sum due.
Do you provide accommodation?
A number of our childrens courses have a residential option available. Unfortunately we do not provide accommodation for adult courses, but if you need to stay please call us and we would be happy to pass on details of local hotels and guest houses.
How do I get more information about a course?
