Adults and children; musicians, artists, dramatists and scientists; whether you live locally or wish to stay with us – everyone is welcome at Uppingham Summer School.
Fun and learning are combined at Uppingham Summer School. For children and adults, we offer the opportunity for everyone to enjoy learning with like-minded people – whether you’re embarking on something new, or improving an existing skill.
If you’re local, you’ll no doubt travel to Uppingham daily - if you live further afield you may wish to make your studies into a holiday by staying at Uppingham, this delightfully unspoilt gem in the centre of rural England. We are able to offer accommodation in en-suite single rooms for those attending our adult courses.
Courses aimed predominantly at adults are on pages with orange tops – but older, sensible teenagers are more than welcome to attend too! Courses for children are on the pages with green tops – with the recommended age group marked for each course. Our full-week children’s courses with residential options include our ever-popular Young Musicians Weeks.
About Uppingham Summer School
Flexibility is key on our courses. Each tutor guides us on the amount of time needed to achieve the objectives of their particular course – so some full day courses are longer or shorter than others as we try to tailor the length according to the advice of our tutors. Each course has been carefully thought through to maximise your learning experience.
All courses are run by Uppingham Summer School, which is part of, and based at, Uppingham School, one of England’s most prestigious independent schools, which was founded in 1584. Set in 120 acres of rolling Rutland countryside, we offer an abundance of excellent facilities…. come to England’s smallest county and make your learning experience at Uppingham a real holiday.
